Clean GBs of Revit Temporary Files

February 2025

❝ I found Revit stores temporary files in our PC, as we work or when we update to a different version. ❞

🥵 These files are filling up Local Disk memory even though, they usually don´t ever be used again.

So, I made a small Revit tool to select and delete different types of temp files.

1. Collaboration Cache Files and Journal Files.

2. Installation Files and Folders.

3. General Temporary Files.

My (biased) take; I used it, and it deleted 8 GBs of temporary files in around 15 seconds

Just remember to restart Revit.

PS: Small tool is in Nonicatab pro.

💻 Coding tip: used taskdialogcommandlinkid.commandlink1 to add the different options/buttons to Revit taskdialog.
